Although our doors are closed for most programs and social distancing is the new norm, the staff at the H.E.S. is hard at work creating digital content for you to participate in from the comfort of your own home.

The H.E.S. is serving grab-and-go breakfast and lunch to all school-age children.

Baked Ziti with steamed broccoli and garlic knots
Spaghetti and meatballs
French toast and so much more!
Meals are available for 2 days at a time!

EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER
Join your child’s teacher and friends every morning and throughout the day for circle time, story-time, exercise, science, crafts, and other fun learning opportunities.
Activities are offered through Google Classrooms via live streaming, videos prepared by your child’s teachers, interactive materials and so much more.

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
The After School Program is live and providing weekly program through the H.E.S. Interactive After School Program Google Classroom!
Offering weekly activities for both students and families; take a peek at the schedule below for some of the weekly fun!
- Mondays – Students will be provided with ELA based activities and assignments.
- Tuesdays – Homework support is available by phone and email from 4 P.M.-6 P.M.
- Wednesdays – eBook Club.
- In addition to the eBook Club, each Wednesday grade-appropriate math sheets will be posted for students to complete.
- Thursdays – Homework support is available by phone and email from 4 P.M. -6 P.M.
- Students and parents may call the After School @ 718-241-3000 x 136 or email Ashley@thehes.org or Steven@thehes.org.
- Thursdays will also be Family Activity Night. One family will win a prize that will be mailed to them. The activity will be posted at random times each Thursday so lookout and have fun!
We had our first Family Fun Night Home Edition winner this week! Liani from the After School Program won the Family Fun Night Scavenger hunt and will receive a prize in the mail.
- Fridays – Take a virtual tour of a famous museum.
- Lastly, to end the week, we have Highlights of the week!

PROGRAMS FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES
Join Austin Noel our Director of Persons with Disabilities Departments as he leads program participants through mindfulness exercises and easy at-home art projects.

COVID-19 DISABILITY FORM – This form is designed to help physicians provide you with proper medical treatment, in case you need to go to the hospital for COVID-19 related symptoms. Complete as many of the questions as possible.
Have an instrument at home you always wanted to learn how to play? Improve your skills on an instrument you already know how to play?

SPORTS, FITNESS, AND AQUATICS
Our Sports, Fitness and Aquatic’s team has a Google Classroom set-up for all H.E.S. Sports, Fitness, and Aquatics participants. You should have received an email invitation to join; if you have not please email us and we will ensure to invite you!
Programming includes daily live work-outs, live conversations about staying fit and eating healthy through these times, recommended at-home workouts, and so very much more. Each of the 9 episodes per season lasts for eight to eleven minutes and is accompanied by lesson plans and activity guides to take the conversation further and spark critical thinking.
