ADULT FITNESS

In addition to our fitness center equipped with cardio equipment, H.E.S. has a gymnasium perfect for indoor sports, an indoor Olympic-sized pool and a variety of fitness classes aimed at improving the health & wellness of adults of all ages and fitness levels.

Our fitness classes are safe, effective, and intentionally geared to leave you feeling fit, toned, strong, and motivated. Classes include cardio, core strengthening, core sculpting, stretching, and emphasis on proper form, breathing, technique, and safety. 


Join our Adult Fitness classes and take advantage of our large indoor recreational facilities. 

Group Ex classes:

Yoga

Tues: 10 – 10:45 am

Wed: 7 pm – 8 pm

  • Non-Member: $25/class

Learn various YOGA postures, deep breathing techniques, and gain a sense of peace and stability. This class is led by a certified instructor and all skill levels are welcome.  Yoga helps achieve the following:

  • Relaxation of body and mind
  • Increased energy
  • Greater self-discipline
  • Increased self-determination
  • Greater ability to concentrate
  • Improvements in blood circulation

Zumba

Tues: 7 pm – 8 pm 

  • Member: Free
  • Non-Member: $25/class

Zumba is an interval-style dance fitness class that combines low-intensity and high-intensity moves. Burn lots of calories as you move to the rhythm with Latin-inspired dance moves.


Personal Fitness Training

1-to-1 personal training with intense workouts catered to your level of endurance and health. Our certified instructors are committed to assisting you on your journey to a healthy lifestyle. Exercises will take place in our indoor climate controlled Fitness Center and gymnasium.

Adult Swim Classes

The H.E.S. Learn To Swim program is Canarsie’s largest provider of year-round swimming lessons for students of all ages and skill levels. Classes are held in our heated Olympic-sized pool. For more info, click here.


Triple Threat 3 on 3 Basketball League

Started by a group of members who are basketball league enthusiasts, the Triple Threat 3 on 3 League had a successful first season this past spring. The league is back in the fall.

Open Pickleball

Mon: 8 am – 2 pm

Wed: 8 am – 12 pm

Fri: 12 pm – 3 pm

Fun, social and friendly, Pickleball has become a popular sport all across the United States. The rules are simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players.

The H.E.S. has full-size regulation Pickleball courts in our climate controlled indoor gymnasium for recreational and league play.

In addition to Open Pickleball, hours are reserved for Basketball, Volleyball, Handball, Paddleball, Racquetball and Table Tennis in our large indoor gymnasium. Look at our full Gym Schedule for times.
