After school, over the weekend, and throughout the summer, the Hebrew Educational Society is a welcoming hub of activities for children of all ages.

SPORTS CAMP AT THE H.E.S.

July 6th – August 13th 

Ages 8-14

 

Sports Summer Camp at the H.E.S. is geared toward the social and emotional development of young athletes. This camp is perfect for the athlete who enjoys a variety of sports and recreational games. Campers are taught and develop skills while having the opportunity to compete in the Four Core H.E.S. sports, Basketball, Soccer, Martial Arts, and Swimming.

 

In addition, campers will have the opportunity to test out new sports during weekly elective times, including, Flag Football, Track and Field, and MORE!

 

Did we mention that each Friday, campers will travel offsite to a sports-themed trip?!

 

Our highly qualified Coaching Staff makes sure that all activities are high-paced and nonstop fun for everyone!

 

Through sports, each camper will learn the following principles that will last them a lifetime:

  • Sportsmanship
  • Teamwork
  • Commitment
  • Goal Setting
  • Communication
  • Perseverance
On top of everything else, there are tremendous health benefits of attending this camp. During the COVID-19 pandemic, children stayed indoors and isolated in many instances. Over the past year, children were not provided with as many opportunities to engage in physical exercise.

 

Sports Camp at the H.E.S. gives your child the opportunity to get back outdoors, play, and socialize while building athletic skills, self-confidence, and so much more.

Track and field at the H.E.S. is geared to improve individual speed and endurance by focusing on overall athletic development and incremental goal setting to maximize potential.

 

As participants learn to compete as runners and support their teammates, young runners begin to cultivate a lifestyle that encourages health and fitness.

FLAG FOOTBALL AT THE H.E.S.

SUMMER FLAG FOOTBALL IS HERE, SECURE YOUR CHILD’S SPOT AND REGISTER TODAY! 

July 6 – August 24

Tuesdays and Thursdays
5:00 P.M. – 6:30 P.M.

 

$225 – All ages (15, hour and a half classes)

Flag Football classes will begin with football basics and move into more position-specific activities and drills. Flag Football is a safe alternative to learning fundamentals about the sport in a low-risk environment.

 

The program will focus on the basics of football while including position-specific drills and activities. The goal of our flag football clinics is to mix instructional activities with fun and safe games of flag football which involve little to no physical contact between players.

CAMP XTRA

SUMMER 2021 IS HERE (ALMOST)

 

H.E.S. Camp Xtra is a day camp that caters to children with developmental disabilities. Campers are in a safe environment where they can feel comfortable and enjoy their summer in the least restrictive environment. 
 
Children in Camp Xtra are mainstreamed within H.E.S.’ Summer Camp with the support of a counselor. The appropriate level of assistance is assessed for each child based on their individual needs, from a group setting to a 1:1 camper/staff ratio.
 
Children participate in general camp activities and enriching activities. Transportation (from local areas) DUE TO COVID-19 TRANSPORTATION WILL NOT BE PROVIDED FOR SUMMER 2020, lunch and snacks are provided. 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Your child must be between the ages of 5-17;
  • The child must have an IEP;
  • If a child has received OPWDD Waiver Services, the Care Manager must provide their Level of Care (LOC), Life Plan, Notice of Decision (NOD), Psychological and Psycho-social evaluations.
Additionally, children, 7+ must be toilet trained to attend the Camp Xtra Program.

 

Each child must engage in an intake meeting with the Director of Disability Services Department prior to being admitted to the program.

VACATION PROGRAM

SCHOOL MAY BE OUT BUT THE H.E.S. IS STILL HERE FOR YOU!

 

When your child’s school is closed for holidays* they can join us for an encore of our summer-inspired activities for the H.E.S. Vacation Program.

 

Programs held daily from 8:00 A.M. – 6:00 P.M. and will include sports, dance, arts and crafts, STEM, and so much more.
Lunch must be provided by the parent except for during Passover, where outside food will be prohibited and the H.E.S. will provide Kosher for Passover lunch.

MARTIAL ARTS AT THE H.E.S.

SOCCER AT THE H.E.S.

Adhering to the U.S. Youth Soccer curriculum, the H.E.S. soccer skills and drills program develops the skill set of beginner to advanced players.

 

The program’s goal is to further develop the motor skills and cognitive functions of our players through soccer fundamentals while having a great time!

Our Jr. NBA sanctioned basketball program provides the framework for a healthy lifestyle while establishing the foundations and fundamentals of basketball.

 

Your child will exercise, develop social skills, self-confidence, and learn to work in a team setting.

 

Our basketball program is a perfect opportunity to develop a foundation for future development for all children interested in basketball.
