Our Early Childhood program is designed specifically for the age and level of each child. We promote all areas of development including intellectual, physical, social and emotional. It is our goal to provide excellent early childhood services to the community in which we serve and to meet the needs of all our students and families.
AGE: Children 2.5 to 5 years of age
Program activities include instructional gym, music & movement, storytime, arts & crafts and events for families to join for parent engagement. The latter activities mentioned are an addition to our regular extended day and year round programming and the developmentally appropriate curriculum that is furnished through the DOE for 3s & 4s.
Highlights of the Early Childhood Center:
1) 3K and Pre-K full year program
2) Extended Day available 3 – 6 pm
3) Breakfast, lunch and snack
4) Outdoor playgrounds and gym on premise
5) Benefit of community center services
6) Safe and secure; Following and exceeding all public health guidelines
The H.E.S. Early Childhood program is a uniform school.
Our Staff
Classrooms are led by a Lead Teacher and an Assistant Teacher. Teachers hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in education and are working toward Masters degrees and New York State Teacher Certification.
Our Families
Our families are an integral part of the school. We have a Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) of parents from across our program. PAC board members are voted into office by their fellow parents and together with the Administration and teachers build a rich learning environment for the children. Parent volunteers support the school by assisting with school-wide activities and raising funds to enrich the children’s learning experiences.
Summer Camp
Early Childhood continues through the summer to provide families with our year-round programming.
For both 3K and Pre-K, Extended Days are available and the program includes breakfast and lunch.
